Long Bio (187 words)
Anything but small, Minuscule is a five-voice force, striding into difficult conversations with equal parts therapy and harmony. They fearlessly explore playful and painful corners of the human experience, delivering the poeticism of Joni Mitchell and Gord Downie with the harmonic punch of Florence + The Machine and TuneYards. Audiences across Canada – including those at Hillside, Springtide, and Live From the Rock – have been captivated by Minuscule’s invigorating live presence, summoning social responsibility and empathy through empowering anthems, riveting layered vocals, and tongue-in-cheek lyrics.
Based in Ontario’s Niagara region, Minuscule has collaborated across genres with Polaris-nominated artists from wistful indie-folk group Great Lake Swimmers to epic heavy-metal duo Vile Creature, receiving a Juno nod for their choral arrangements. The title track from their debut album Great, co-produced by Minuscule founder Laurel Minnes and Joe Lapinski of WOW! Recording Studio (Ron Sexsmith, Sarah Harmer, Woodshed Orchestra), landed Minnes the Niagara Music Award for Songwriter of the Year and was featured on CBC’s Q.
With mesmerizing musicality and conviction, tempered with sly wordplay and sensitive insight – Minuscule doesn’t preach to the choir, but compels you to raise your own voice.

“They blew my mind and my soul apart into tiny pieces only to sew me back together with their stunning voices, powerful, clever and beautiful lyrics. The outstanding humanity and love that emanated from each one of them whether they were on the big stage or in a small acoustic venue had the audience enraptured and hanging onto every note.”
Shara Gustafson – Artistic Director, Robson Valley Music Festival
“Minuscule’s live performance takes you to the church of your highest self. Their live show is a transcendent experience.”

“Their ability to blend social commentary with artistic beauty is what sets them apart. This is music that has something to say, and it says it with grace, power, and elegance.”
